eClinicalWorks - Separating Fax Pages/Documents - Revised 6/10/14

As of 6/10/14 all offices have the ability to receive faxes electronically and access them in eCW, the question of how to separate a single fax for multiple patients came up.  This will allow you to add documents that come in on a single fax without having to print  the fax to separate it and then scan the separate documents into eCW and discard the paper.  This will help lower cost and also improve efficienty.  Below are steps on how to accomplish this:

1. From the Patient Documents screen,
2. Select the Fax InBox option (See Figure 1 Below) instead of clicking on Add, click the green down arrow beside the add button (See Figure 2 Below).

3. Sect Add Pages.

4. From here you can select the current page you are viewing, a range of pages in sequence or a custom order or pages.  After clicking on Ok only the pages you specify will be added to the document that can then be assigned, etc as normal.  You will need to determine the page ranges that belong to each patient before beginning and after finishing you will have to delete the original fax from the Fax Inbox queue.
